
Alliant Energy Foundation raised $515,000 to support programs that fight hunger and food insecurity in Iowa and Wisconsin. The amount is the largest on record in the company’s 17 years of hosting their annual Drive Out Hunger event.
In total, the event has raised over $5.9 million for hunger relief and provided over 20 million meals. Traditionally hosted during Hunger Action Month in September, Alliant Energy’s annual golf event and signature fundraiser connects Alliant Energy’s business partners across the country to programs that alleviate hunger.
Funds raised from Drive Out Hunger will be distributed to seven local food banks serving 105 counties where Alliant Energy provides service:
- Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin - 14 counties.
- Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin - 9 counties.
- HACAP Food Reservoir - 7 counties in Iowa.
- Food Bank of Iowa - 52 counties.
- Northeast Iowa Food Bank - 14 counties.
- River Bend Food Bank - 5 counties in Iowa.
- Food Bank for the Heartland - 4 counties in Iowa.
