Entries for the Dairy Cattle Show at the 56th World Dairy Expo in Madison are now being accepted. The first entry deadline is September 4 at 11:59 p.m. (CDT). Late entries can be submitted online through 5:00 p.m. (CDT) the day before the respective breed meeting at the show for an increased fee.
The 2023 Dairy Cattle Show adds a Summer Junior Two-Year-Old Class to both the Guernsey and Milking Shorthorn shows. In addition, a lead-out class for the Champion Bred & Owned of the Heifer Show – for both the International Red & White Show and International Junior Red & White Show – has been added. Following a recommendation from Expo’s finance committee, the entry fee for all animals until September 4 at 11:59 p.m. (CDT) is $85, and the late entry fee is $250.
The Dairy Cattle Show will run Sunday, October 1 through Friday, October 6. There will be a new breed show schedule organized by the WDE Dairy Cattle Exhibitor Committee. Attendees are encouraged to visit Expo’s website or download the mobile event app to learn more.
In addition to Expo’s Dairy Cattle Show, entries are also open for the Youth Showmanship Contest exclusively online. Entries can be submitted with dairy cattle entries, and the fee is $10 through Friday, September 29 at 2:00 p.m. (CDT). Late entries are accepted until 10:00 a.m. (CDT) on Saturday, September 30 for an increased fee of $20. Cash awards will be presented to first and second place in each age division, in addition to a Supreme and Reserve Supreme Champion Showman in memory of Annette Ostrom.
