The Wisconsin all milk price for May 2023 was $17.90 per hundredweight, according to the latest numbers from USDA. The National Agricultural Statistics Service’s agricultural prices report says that price tag was $2.50 below April’s price and $9.50 below last May’s price.
The U.S. all milk price for May was $19.30 per cwt, $1.40 higher than Wisconsin’s price but $1.40 lower than April’s U.S. price.
The average price received by farmers for corn during May 2023 in Wisconsin was $6.24 per bushel. This was 6 cents below the April price and 67 cents below May 2022.
The May average price received by farmers for soybeans, at $14.40 per bushel, was 10 cents below the April price and $1.50 below the May 2022 price.
The May average oat price per bushel, at $4.04, was 21 cents below April and $1.81 below May 2022.
All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $156 per ton in May. This was $8 above the April price but $4
below the May 2022 price. The May 2023 alfalfa hay price, at $170, was $10 above the previous month
and $2 above May 2022. The average price received for other hay during May was $113 per ton. This was
$3 above the April price but $15 below May last year.
