Nate Zimdars has become a part of the Mid-West Farm Report Network broadcast team.
Sharing the story of agriculture comes easily to Zimdars, since agriculture has been deeply woven into the fabric of his life since he was a kid. Zimdars grew up on a small hobby farm outside Ripon, Wisconsin. He’s no stranger to hard work and responsibility which were instilled in him at an early age. As a kid, he enjoyed raising sheep and poultry for the county fair, milking cows on his Uncle’s dairy farm – Zimdars Family Farm, and being active in 4-H and FFA.
Zimdars carried those values with him shortly after graduating high school into a year of service as the Wisconsin State FFA Treasurer. That experience inspired him to continue seeking leadership opportunities with various organizations including the Wisconsin FFA Alumni, Wisconsin Farm Bureau, Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault, and the Ripon Area School Board.
Following his education at UW-Madison, Zimdars wanted to maintain a connection with agriculture. That led to a year of milking cows by hand in the West African nation of Senegal through a program called Young Adults in Global Mission, and most recently as a Shift Supervisor for Saputo Cheese. In his free time, you can find Zimdars on a long run or bike ride, practicing his photography skills on sunsets, and traveling to state or national parks.
Zimdars joins Stephanie Hoff, Charitee Seebecker, Carrie Mess and Pam Jahnke in bringing farming and food news across Wisconsin. The Mid-West Farm Report Network encompasses more than 22 radio signals, a Madison television partner, as well as Fabulous Farm Babe on social media streams.
