The average price received by Wisconsin farmers for corn during February 2023 was $6.34 per bushel, according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service’s agricultural prices report. This was
14 cents above the January price and 50 cents above February 2022.
For comparison, as of April 3 at 9:15 a.m., cash corn is trading at $6.67 and three-quarters from the Chicago Board of Trade.
The February 2023 average price received by farmers for soybeans, at $14.80 per bushel, was 70 cents above the January price and 10 cents above the February 2022 price.
As of April 3 at 9:15 a.m., cash soybeans are trading at $15.22 and a half on the CBOT.
The February average oat price per bushel, at $4.58, was 3 cents above January but $1.64 below February 2022.
All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $156 per ton in February. This was $1 above the January price and $1 above the February 2022 price. The February 2023 alfalfa hay price, at $169, was $6 above the previous month and $9 above February 2022. The average price received for other hay during February was $109 per ton. This was $7 below the January price and $20 below February last year.
The Wisconsin all milk price for February 2023 was $20.40 per hundredweight. This was $1.60 below last month’s price and $3.60 below last February’s price. The U.S. all milk price for February was $21.60 per cwt, $1.20 higher than Wisconsin’s price but $1.50 lower than last month’s U.S. price.
For comparison, as of April 3 at 9:16 a.m., the May Class III milk contract is trading at $18.44 per cwt on the CBOT.
