In 2022, Langlade County was the largest oat-producing county in Wisconsin with 537,000 bushels, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. And Dodge County was the largest winter wheat-producing county with 1.33 million bushels.
In oat production, Marathon County was second with 334,000. Clark and Kewaunee were the third-largest oat-producing counties with 168,000 bushels.
The highest yielding counties were Langlade and Outagamie with an average of 93.7 bushels per acre harvested. Brown County had the second-highest yield at 88.9 bushels per acre. The lowest yielding county was Taylor at 48.2. Rusk had the second lowest yield at 51.6.
In winter wheat production, Fond du Lac County was second with 1.27 million. Manitowoc County was the third-largest winter wheat-producing county with 1.19 million bushels.
The highest yielding county was Dane with an average of 89.2 bushels per acre harvested. Ozaukee County had the second-highest yield at 86.6 bushels per acre. The lowest yielding county was Marinette at 59.3. Adams had the second lowest yield at 61.4.
