The Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs contest is a four-day selection process for a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity. Each contestant participates in a powerful week of networking, knowledge and growth. Meanwhile the judging panel is hard at work getting to know each contestant to determine who will be the next Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs.
During the contest the judging panel has two interviews with each contestant. The first is an individual interview and the second is a small group interview of contestants. The panel has four major categories to assess the contestants during the contest: their application, assessment throughout the contest (individual interview, group interview, meals & social events), and on-stage presence (Meet the contestants, Auction, Preliminaries & Finals).
The goal of the Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs Committee is to enhance each contestant and get them ready for their next step; whether that is becoming the next Wisconsin Fairest, their next job interview, public speaking event or becoming a fair board member. They want them each to shine wherever their path leads them.
While interviews are taking place, there will be fair industry guest presenters that explain and answer questions. Contestants learn what the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade & Consumer Protection does for fairs, how the carnival industry works and how entertainment gets to fairs.
Contestants also have workshops to enhance etiquette for social events, dining, public speaking, communications and tips how to be a leader for fairs and their local Fairest of the Fairs programs.
