Compeer Financial, a member-owned Farm Credit cooperative serving Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin, is pleased to announce the results of its 2022 Board of Director election. Member-owners elected Ashley Ahl of Merrillan, Wis., and Daniel Scheider of Freeport, Ill. to serve on the cooperative’s Board of Directors.
Ahl was an incumbent candidate in the election and Scheider is a newly-elected Director.
ASHLEY AHL
Ashley Ahl is a nursery and Christmas tree farmer, working with her brother on their third-generation farm in Merrillan, Wis. She serves on Compeer Financial’s Audit and Finance Committee. Ahl serves on the USDA Christmas Tree Promotion Board’s Promotion Committee and is a participating member of the Wisconsin Christmas Tree Producers Association.
DANIEL SCHEIDER
Daniel Scheider is the president and general manager of this family’s fifth-generation dairy farm near Freeport, Ill. He previously served on Compeer’s Client Advisory Committee and is currently a board member for Stephenson County Farm Bureau and Buckeye Mutual.
The Compeer Financial Board of Directors sets business direction, and monitors and evaluates operations, all while taking into consideration client needs, the changing marketplace and Compeer’s commitment to serving agriculture and rural America.
Elections took place via mailed ballots in September and October. Directors are elected across Compeer’s three regions, which follow state boundaries for the 144 counties the organization serves in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin. In total, there are 15 members of the Board; 12 of whom are elected by member-owners and three of whom are appointed by the Board to offer additional expertise and insights.
Additionally, 24 candidates were elected to a one-year term on the Nominating Committee, which is responsible for identifying, evaluating and nominating suitable candidates for Director positions and future Nominating Committee positions.
