In the midst of this new post-pandemic era, people may find themselves stressed and looking for an outlet to unwind. One option for managing mental health in a peaceful, outdoors setting is goat therapy.
Abigail Lippman is the owner of Oak Hollow Acres and Serenity Soap Works just outside of Burlington. She outlines their goat therapy program and shares the role that she hopes to play in helping people relax in a non-traditional way.
Lippmann explains that the goat therapy sessions they offer consist of an hour spent playing with goats and asking any questions that may arise. The way that the hour is spent is totally up to the customer; they may choose to have all their questions about goats answered or simply choose to sit in peace with the goats for an hour.
Lippmann shares that they have welcomed visitors to the Milwaukee area from all across the country. For some visitors, this experience is their first interaction with goats and other farm animals. Lippmann hopes to help educate visitors about goats and the ag industry.
