The 93rd Wisconsin State FFA Convention is quickly drawing to a close at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison with record attendance.
Cheryl Zimmerman, Wisconsin FFA Executive Secretary, tells Pam Jahnke that she’s expecting the final attendance numbers at the 2023 event to be near record, if not record breaking. “Every time I started to look at the count – for the meals – I was seeing 800 here, 1,000 there, so I really expect a record attendance.”
Wednesday evening it was time for the stars to shine. The Wisconsin FFA Association announced that four individuals will represent the state at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.
Star Farmer – Brayden Peter – Howards Grove FFA
Star in Agribusiness – Cameron Pokorny – Waupun FFA
Star in Agriscience – Wyatt Gotham – New Auburn FFA
Star in Agricultural Placement – Luke Sprecher – Sauk Prairie FFA
There was also the big announcement on members of the 2023-2024 State FFA Officer Team. The State FFA President will be revealed on Thursday. The new officer team individuals include:
Isaac Hopke – Section One, Spooner FFA Chapter
Heidi Strey – Section Two, Osseo Fairchild FFA Chapter
Kendra Goplin – Section Three, Whitehall FFA Chapter
Jeremiah Ihm – Section Four, Lancaster FFA Chapter
Rhylie Gough – Section Five, Albany FFA Chapter
Cole Hicken – Section Six, Waupun FFA Chapter
Devani Hinkelmann – Section Seven, Loyal FFA Chapter
Brooke Casey – Section Eight, New Loyal FFA Chapter
Evan Mennen – Section Nine, Bay Port FFA Chapter
Mary Schrieber – Section Ten, East Troy FFA Chapter
