Folk Song Farm Events LLC will host a Farm-to-Table event Sunday, June 12, 2022. The goal of this event is to connect local community members with farmstead food. The event is open to the public and tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets are limited and can be purchased directly through Eventbrite.com by clicking here.
The Farm-to-Table event will take place in the historical 1850s Folk Song barn, which celebrated its rebirth on November 30, 2017 and has become well-known as an extraordinary location to commemorate life’s greatest moments. Set on 48 acres of rural farmland at 4811 Pioneer Road near Richfield, Wis., the view from Folk Song Farm offers great sunset panoramas and a glimpse of local wildlife and birds in their natural habitat. This 7th-generation family-owned and operated location has been the site of weddings, dinners, meetings, reunions, family gatherings and more.
“It’s an honor to share Folk Song Farm with the community,” says Dwight Mayer, owner of Folk Song Farm Events LLC. “The farm has been in the family since 1853 and our grandchildren represent the eighth generation. Folk Song Farm is more than just a place of serenity – it’s a representation of our community’s story.”
Refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served beginning at 4:30 pm. Live music will be performed by The Embedded Reporter and a team of Percherons will be available for those who’d like to enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride. There will also be plenty of room to relax and take in the country air.
At 5:30 pm guests will be served a five-course family-style meal on fine linens. Prepared by the owner of Prime Minister Catering of Thiensville, Wis., dinner will include pastichio (Greek-style lasagna), spanakopita (spinach pie,) keftedes (Greek meatballs,) chicken shish-kabobs, and a Greek-style salad. The main dish will feature natural, locally grown and sourced ingredients. Concluding the meal will be homemade dessert served with a side of farmstead ice cream.
