A reminder that the Hemp Program will transition from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) on January 1, 2022. Information about this change is available through the following materials:

- Application checklist: This USDA checklist includes instructions for applying for a USDA hemp license.
- USDA application: Information for the 2022 hemp grower license application process is available at https://www.ams.usda.gov/rules-regulations/hemp/information-producers. Follow the link for the Hemp eManagement Platform (HeMP) to create an account and submit a USDA hemp application.
Beginning January 1, 2022, hemp growers will be licensed by the USDA and hemp processors will no longer require a license. More information is available at https://hemp.wi.gov.
