Now the decorations and theme aren’t the only important part of the party, there is always the food to consider. I’ve said this before and will say it again, food is one of my love languages. There are many simple options that can be made ahead of time. A taco bar is a great option that offers different protein options, as well as different carb options. As a food allergy family now, options are something I’ve learned to offer.
Protein:
- Shredded chicken
- Ground beef
- Black beans
Sides:
- Lettuce
- Tomatoes
- Salsa
- Guacomole
- Shredded cheese
- Sour cream
- Rice
- Beans
- Roasted corn
Serving Items:
- Chips
- Flour tortillas
- Hard shell tortillas
- Corn tortillas
Ground beef and chicken can be made ahead of time. Brown the beef, freeze, and put in a crock pot the morning of. The same can be done with the chicken. Throw it in the crockpot and add seasoning as needed.
All of the sides can be prepped ahead of time. Put them in serving dishes, cover and have ready in the fridge for meal time.
PRO TIP: With guac if you keep the pit in it, it will stay fresh longer.
