It’s summer and when you don’t have a mud room, the closest bathroom gets used for cleaning off after coming in after chores. For instance right now we do a lot of feet washing after being barefoot outside. When your towels end up on the floor in a pile they tend to take on a stench after a while. This cleaning technique even works great for dish rags and towels. I like to wash everything regularly. Then wash them like this every fourth wash or so.
Put towels in wash. Turn water to hot, add in 1 – 2 cups vinegar depending on how big your wash load is and how stinky everything is. Wash on regular cycle.
When the first cycle is done, leave the towels in the washer. Add in 1 – 2 cups baking soda. Wash on cool, regular cycle. Dry with a wool dryer ball with a few drops of lavender essential oil.
