Hello! My name is Rachel Klinkner, and I am joining the Mid-West Farm Report team as an AG Assistant and Content Creator.
I am from the little rural town of Cashton, WI. I was born and raised on an organic dairy farm, where I currently still live and work.
My passion for agriculture stemmed from my roots on the farm. Living and working on a farm, I was immersed in different aspects of agriculture. Ranging from animal nutrition, animal reproduction, agronomy, horticulture, land conservation, product marketing and advertising and the list continues. My siblings and I all raised markets pigs for the Monroe Country Fair, and I also showed dairy cattle since about second grade. I was a member of my local 4-H club through elementary and middle school. I was also a very active member in my FFA chapter, serving as Secretary, Vice President and President throughout high school. I traveled to numerous leadership and development conferences and competed in various speaking events.
I was also an active member of the Monroe County Junior Dairy Club, serving as a Secretary, Vice President and President for many of my middle and high school years. I helped plan fundraisers, educational events and tours, member bonding activities, show cattle clipping and fitting training and the annual dairy basket auction at the Monroe County Fair.
After graduating from high school, in 2020, I continued my education at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. There, I study Communications and Advertising with a minor in Marketing. Even at the collegiate level, I educate and advocate for agriculture. I enjoy teaching my peers about agriculture and what farm life entails.
I am excited to join the team at the Mid-West Farm Report and share news and stories about Wisconsin’s agricultural industry and all that it incorporates.
