Time is running out if you, or someone you know, would like an opportunity to work with the state’s premiere farm broadcasting network. The Midwest Farm Report’s looking for candidates that are passionate about agriculture and sharing the story with interested consumers and farmers. We’ll close the application deadline promptly at the close of business on Friday, April 16th. Ideally, candidates will be near Madison, La Crosse or Eau Claire – but all conversations are welcome.
You should be able to develop stories and content that tells the story of Wisconsin agriculture, farming, food production and everything that influences it.
You need to be ready for long, rewarding, days covering dairy breakfasts, county fairs, field days, conventions, annual meetings and events both in state and across the country. We don’t watch the clock – kinda like farmers.
Some broadcast experience is welcome – even if it’s been a podcast or video.
You will travel both in state and out. Every day will be different! You’ll meet different people, doing different things, with different stories – EVERY DAY!
You’ll have a flexible schedule, but will still need to be ready to react when press conferences are scheduled or stories develop quickly. This is not a 9-5! You may start one day at 2 a.m. and the next at noon – every day is different.
