Are you interested in conservation management and how it relates to Wisconsin agriculture? The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) currently has two Conservation Specialist openings available.
These Conservation Specialist positions perform environmental analysis and review related to Wisconsin’s Soil and Water Resource Management. The core responsibilities of these position include: building and maintaining partnerships with key partners, tracking emerging practices, developing program priorities, administering a soil health training system, program evaluation and continuous improvement, and tracking and quantifying program impacts.
These positions also conduct outreach to farmers, agricultural industry professionals, university and technical college faculty and staff, and county, state, and federal agency staff in order to gain feedback on soil health programs and practices, nutrient management planning and implementation, and other strategies for improving water quality.
These positions are eligible to be headquartered from an applicants’ home office anywhere throughout the state of Wisconsin. Deadline to apply is Monday January 4th. Please access the position link for more details or a position description.
