The morning sung spring, with the air cool and birds awakening in today’s pre-dawn moments as we walked across our Wisconsin farmyards.
As we arrived in barns and sheds to start the morning’s chores we were reminded that spring still is in place. But then we heard WAXX 104.5 farm director Bob Bosold’s booming voice telling us that the day’s high temperature could reach 90 degrees.
Yes, we realized, spring still is here. Yet summer is nigh, the day promising to be a foretaste of the depth of summer’s heat.
Not all is lost in the heat, though. The day promises to bring another grand opportunity to work on the first crop of hay and, as Bob might say, “it’s a dry heat.”
However you like your heat — or don’t like your heat — Bob and I wish you comfort, and a productive and safe day as the harvest and other farm chores go on.
