Crop-planting is continuing in the region after a single wet day that some area farmers said was welcome moisture.
With the progress, one farmer told me that the region actually might return to a season in which the planting was done before the hay-cutting begins — certainly not the song that was played during 2019, when the planting never seemed to end or simply was stopped because it became too late in the season.
The farmer hesitated after the planting-done-before-haying comment even was fully out of his mouth. He worried that it might jinx the prospect.
We can hope for him and all farmers that this season of “pretty much just-right weather” continues — no jinx included.
