Professional Dairy Producers® – PDPW has released the speaker and content line up for week six of The Dairy Signal™. Highlights include Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers and Randy Romanski, Interim Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, addressing the state of the dairy industry and how federal funds might be distributed here in Wisconsin, Tue., May 12, 2020.
Developed by fellow dairy farmers from the PDPW Board of Directors, The Dairy Signal is a weekly series of free educational episodes offering timely insights and resources for fellow dairy farmers and other food system professionals throughout the value chain.
Each episode, speakers of The Dairy Signal break down the day’s dairy business and market dynamics and offer tools to get farmers through the day and weeks ahead until the world stabilizes. The episodes air live from 12:00-1:00 PM CT each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; recorded sessions are available later in the day. The Spanish translation, La Señal Lechera™, is also available via recording.
During last week’s Dairy Signal, Dan Basse, Economist and President of AgResource Company, offered this advice to dairy producers, “Think forward toward risk management to capture every opportunity available.”
Steve Van Lannen, President and Chief Operating Officer of American Foods Group, echoed Basse’s thoughts, adding, “Stay calm, think things through and communicate. There are a ton of resources out there. You’re not in this alone – we can sort it out together.”
Our dairy industry and lives are changing daily and our need for accurate business information is vital. Content on The Dairy Signal will be updated as new information becomes available.
