Most commodity prices were suffering before covid-19 as farmers struggle to find a market.
The February 2020 average price received by farmers for corn in Wisconsin was $3.66 per bushel according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Agricultural Prices report. This was unchanged from January but 20 cents above the previous February.
The February soybean price, at $8.45 per bushel, was down 18 cents from January and 3 cents below the previous February.
The February oat price was $3.15 per bushel, 18 cents above the January price and 13 cents above February 2019.
All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $176.00 per ton in February, down $7.00 from January and $20.00 below February 2019.
The alfalfa hay price averaged $184.00 per ton in February, down $7.00 from January and $17.00 below the previous February.
The other hay price averaged $145.00, up $1.00 from January but $34.00 below the February 2019 price.
