With more farm children than normal home this time of the year because of the coronavirus, the Marshfield-based National Farm Medicine Center’s specialists are offering a list of age-appropriate activities and projects for those children and their families.
Barbara Lee, director of the National Farm Medicine Center’s National Children Center, said, “We hear from parents who are juggling farm work, off-farm work and home-schooling,” said Barbara Lee, director of the NFMC’s National Children’s Center for Rural and Agricultural Health and Safety. “And yet, children are still depending on us, as adults, to keep them safe.”
Lee said that, no matter how difficult for a farm parent the issues surrounding coronovirus might become, having a child receive serious injuries would be much more stressful.
The center’s list of activities and age-appropriate guidelines are available at www.cultivatesafety.org.
