Three incumbents have been re-elected to Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin board.
Re-elected were Andy Buttles of Lancaster, Steve Orth of Cleveland and Katy Schultz of Fox Lake. The three were elected this week to their second three-year terms during the PDPW’s Virtual Business Conference.
Other PDPW Board members include Jay Heeg, Heeg Brothers Dairy LLC, Colby; Dan Scheider, Scheidairy Farms, Freeport, Ill.; Janet Clark, Vision Aire Farms, LLC, Rosendale; Ken Feltz, Feltz Family Farms Inc. and Feltz’s Dairy Store Inc., Stevens Point; John Haag, Haag Dairy, LLC, Dane; and Corey Hodorff, Second-Look Holsteins, LLC, Eden.
Buttles and his wife Lyn owns and manage Stone-Front Farm. They have daughters Christina and Kayla. Their farm has 1,250 cows and 25 employee. He serves on the state Land and Water Conservation Board and the Grant Regional Health Center board of directors.
Orth is co-owner and general manager in his family’s farm, Orthland Dairy Farm LLC, which includes his mother Maxine, and brother Joel. He focuses on management of the farm’s 18 employees, animal well-being and profitability. The farm has 1,100 cows and 900 heifers, and the family operates 2,300 acres of land.
Schultz and her siblings Kari and Nick own Tri-Fecta Farms, Inc. The farmers have 500 cows, raise all their young stock and manage 2,000 acres of corn, alfalfa, wheat, soybeans, and peas. Katy is the on-farm manager for daily operations, including livestock and employees. She has lived and traveled abroad, studying agriculture and networking with farmers.
