There’s something about a good farm show to raise spirits of the souls who know the rural countryside.
That’s the case for Bob Bosold and me, as we look forward to talking with people of the land today and tomorrow at the Eau Claire Farm Show at the Eau Claire Exposition Center along Highway 312 on Eau Claire’s northwest corner.
This year’s show has a bit of special importance, as it’s within shouting distance of Huntsinger Farms — home of this year’s Farm Technology Days, July 21-23. That certainly will bring even more to visit about during the farm show, along with the normal talk about crops, equipment, cattle, the weather, and our beloved land.
Much of that excitement is sure to carry over to the WAXX Farmers’ Appreciation Dinner March 9 at Bohman’s Supper Club near Stratford. There, other WAXX staff will join Bob and me to congratulate farmers for all they do, and we’ll live the excitement of presenting another Pat Keliher Scholarship to a deserving high school senior.
The best part of farming, of course, is doing the farming itself. But there’s also plenty to be said for the enjoyment in talking about it.
