Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy program has earned one of this year’s Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance Inspiring Efficiency Awards, and is being recognized for its innovation.
The award was presented for FOE’s disaster-recover initiatives that included flood relief offerings and a farm disaster bonus.
This is the third consecutive year FOE was honored for its innovation and the fourth consecutive year it earned an Inspiring Efficiency Award.
The FOE flood relief offering was a limited-time campaign designed to help small-business owners in Wisconsin areas damaged by flooding in 2018. That program offered double the normal financial incentives for qualifying projects in 18 counties. It as offered through the FOE’s community small business offering, which focused on rural areas.
Three hundred thirty-three businesses and groups completed at least one energy efficiency project under the program; 336 projects were completed by 78 FOE trade ally partners and 1,000 energy efficiency measures were included in those projects.
Winners will be honored at the Inspiring Efficiency Awards Dinner and Gala during the Midwest Energy Solutions Conference Feb. 27 in Chicago.
