A Letter from the Jefferson County Sheriff
(This is not the full letter, only key segments)
As most of you are probably aware, Wisconsin Farm Technology Days will be held this year on the Walter Grain Farms property at W5340 French Road on July 23, 24, and 25. The show hours will be 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM on July 23 and 25. On July 24 it will be from 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM. I am writing this letter to provide some general information to you on what you may expect.
The three day event is expected to bring in approximately 40,000 attendees. Vendors will start arriving around 6:30 AM, and attendees around 9:00 AM.
Besides heavy traffic flow at the beginning o the show and at closing time, Reichart Road will be closed each day from 9:00 AM until closing. Up until 9:00 AM, Reichart Road will be used for vendors to enter the parking lots. CTH A from Navan Road to CTH N will be closed to through traffic each day from 8:30 AM until the close of the show.
We will monitor the amount of traffic throughout the day, and may open up CTH to through traffic later in the day. French Road to CTH A will be one-way traffic in the morning for westbound traffic entering the south parking lot and one-way eastbound at closing. We will have a barricade on the shoulder of the road on CTH A south of Watertown indicating Farm Tech and local traffic only, as well as on CTH N at CTH B. Traffic delays can be expected during peak times on CTH A, CTH N, Reichart Road, French Road, Navan Road as well in the City of Lake Mills and Village of Johnson Creek. At all times when operating in the area, please keep your speed reduced and watch for trams transporting people to and from parking lots and field demonstrations.
We do not want to affect local business patrons, so feel free to post a sign on the barricades indicating the road is open to your business. We will do everything we can to accommodate those vehicles to get to your location. We will have plenty of law enforcement in the area and at intersections to assist with traffic flow.
