Members of two central and west-central Wisconsin cooperatives voted yesterday to merge.
Eighty-four percent of the River Country Cooperative, headquartered in Chippewa Falls, and 74 percent of membership in the central Wisconsin-based Heartland Cooperative voted to approve the co-ops’ merger.
December 1 is the target date for the merger’s finalization.
Plans are for the merged cooperative to be River Country Cooperative, with headquarters in Chippewa Falls; current River Country manager Bruce Mlsna would continue in that role.
