Adam and Chrissy Seibel of Bloomer are Wisconsin’s latest Outstanding Young Farmers. The couple received the title during the weekend’s Wisconsin Outstanding Young Farmer awards events at Johnson Creek. The Seibels are partners in Seibel’s Organic Dairy, which milks 140 cows. The farm was among the nation’s first organic farms to use robotic milking equipment.
The first runners-up were Brody and Carolyn Stapel of Cedar Grove. Brody is a partner in Double Dutch Dairy LLC.
Scott Laeser and Chelsea Chandler of Argyle, partners in their Plowshares and Prairie Farm community-supported agriculture farm, were named second runners-up.
Tony Mellenthin of Eau Galle received the event’s Speak Up for Agriculture award.
Other OYF finalists were Evan Hilla, Ladysmith; Ryan and Tasha Schleis, Kewaunee; Mark and Cari Stoltz, Muscoda; and Jon and Holly White, Edgar.
