Schumacher Farm Park in Waunakee has announced its lineup of March events that range from line dancing to maple syrup making.
This 40-acre farmstead was gifted to the Dane County Parks Commission in 1978. The original 1908 farmhouse and barn are accompanied by outbuildings of the same era. The park represents a view into what life was like during the 1920s-1930s.
The property features trails through a 10-acre restored prairie that sits on a hilltop with a beautiful view of Waunakee and even a glimpse of the State Capitol Building.
The Friends of Schumacher Farm manages the park’s programming and maintenance. There are a variety of hands-on workshops for the surrounding community.
