The Dairy Business Association, Wisconsin’s leading dairy advocacy group, has endorsed U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson for re-election to the U.S. Senate in the November election. Johnson is seeking his third term.
DBA President Amy Penterman says Johnson’s efforts on behalf of Wisconsin farms and businesses drove the group’s decision to endorse.
“Sen. Johnson understands what it takes to run a business and that every decision that he makes in D.C. affects businesses around the state, including dairy farms,” says Penterman. “He has stood by family businesses to oppose changes in the tax system that would make it nearly impossible for the next generation to continue farming.”
Earlier this month, DBA announced the endorsements of Tim Michels for governor, Eric Toney for attorney general and 74 candidates for the state Legislature. See the endorsements here: https://www.midwestfarmreport.com/2022/10/08/dba-finalizes-endorsement-list/
“Each of these candidates understands Wisconsin’s place as America’s Dairyland,” Penterman says. “They know dairy is critical to Wisconsin’s economy and are committed to helping our farmers thrive.”
