Dairy Community has Come Together to Meet PDPF Fundraising Goal

Once again, the dairy community has come together to meet the emerging needs of the industry. Even in these tough times, dairy producers and industry leaders have shown their commitment to a legacy of learning for all generations. The 2018 “Plant a Seed. Inspire a Dream” Professional Dairy Producers Foundation (PDPF) campaign raised $25,300.

PDPF funds educational programs and initiatives that develop its people and maintain public trust in production practices, environmental stewardship and food safety. Investing in Dairy’s Foundation, means investing in your way of life and nurturing dairy’s future.

The “Plant a Seed. Inspire a Dream” campaign funds dairy industry education programs that grow the next generation of dairy leaders by supporting programs like the PDPW Youth Leadership Derby, PDPW Mentor Program and PDPW Cornerstone Dairy AcademyTM. Through meaningful donations, the dairy community is ensuring that in addition to land and animals, a legacy of learning is passed to the next generation.

The Professional Dairy Producers Foundation awards dollars to qualified educational programs.  Programs must benefit the dairy community and build a professional, proactive and prepared dairy industry.  The granting period is ongoing with grant applications due June 1 and December 1, 2018. Organizations may apply for grants of up to $5,000.

The Professional Dairy Producers Foundation was established by Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin in 2002 as a way to raise funds and awards grants for educational programs.

For information on programs funded and ways to donate, visit www.dairyfoundation.org.

About Pam Jahnke

Getting up at 2 in the morning might shock some of her listeners, but for Pam Jahnke, it’s part of the business. Born in Northeastern Wisconsin, Pam Jahnke grew up in agriculture. Raised on her family’s 200-acre dairy farm, she learned the “farm work ethic” first hand.
