Annual Ag Day On Campus Coming Up

Collegiate Farm Bureau at UW-Madison will celebrate its annual Ag Day on Campus with the theme ‘Farmers: Doing More with Less.’ The event will take place Wednesday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Library Mall to help educate students on the importance of agriculture.

Thanks to technology and dedication, farmers produce 262% more food with 2% than they did in 1950. As students walk through Library Mall, they will be able to taste Wisconsin food products provided by The University Club, take pictures in a photo booth, learn from agricultural displays and participate in agriculture trivia. Additionally, 2,000 pints of milk will be handed out and students will be able to use the themed Snapchat filter across campus.

Collegiate Farm Bureau members are excited to use this event to “agvocate” for the agriculture industry. Members are looking forward to sharing their agriculture stories and how they have grown through agriculture and help others gain a greater appreciation for Wisconsin farmers.

Sponsors for Ag Day on Campus include the following. Gold: Rosy-Lane Holsteins, WI Soybean Marketing Board, UdderTech, Alpha Gamma Rho, Badger Dairy Club and Dane County Dairy Promotion. Silver: Wisconsin Corn Growers Association, Vita Plus, Association of Women in Agriculture, Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, Baker’s Cheese and Crave Brothers. Bronze: Wisconsin Pork Association, Dairy Business Association, Larson Acres, Wisconsin Beef Council, Ebert Enterprises and Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin.

About Pam Jahnke

Getting up at 2 in the morning might shock some of her listeners, but for Pam Jahnke, it’s part of the business. Born in Northeastern Wisconsin, Pam Jahnke grew up in agriculture. Raised on her family’s 200-acre dairy farm, she learned the “farm work ethic” first hand.
