It’s a first for the Wisconsin Farmers Union!
Patty Edelberg, dairy producer from Amherst Junction, has been named vice president to the National Farmers Union board of directors – the first time a Wisconsin member has been named to the board. Edelberg has been a Wisconsin Farmers Union member for about 20 years, serving on the state board multiple times. She says she’s excited to be one of 3 women that will serve on the national board. Edelberg was elected to the post Monday during the 116th annual meeting of the National Farmers Union in Kansas City.
Edelberg says she’s excited about the opportunity to bring all types of agriculture together. “I was ready. We’re all looking for a new voice, a change, and I’m excited to bring that new angle to the board,” Edelberg said. “I look forward to bringing a new perspective to the board – an unbiased perspective to the board.”
Edelberg and her husband, Gary, milk 120 cows. Previously she was the Executive Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency offices in Wisconsin.
