On January 19th and 20th, experts from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection will come together to present a seminar focusing on effective ways to market livestock. Livestock producers and others involved in the Wisconsin livestock industry are invited and encouraged to attend. The seminar will take place at the UW-River Falls Mann Valley Farm in River Falls.
The seminar will have a specific focus on ways to market Wisconsin beef and pork.
Some of the activities and topics that will be seen at the seminar are:
- Cutting demonstrations
- Value-added products
- Direct marketing panel
- Financial loan availability
- Labeling requirements
Attendees of the seminar will also travel to Sailer’s Food Market and Meat Processing, Inc. in Elmwood. There the atendees will get the opportunity to get an inside look at the operation of five generations of successful meat processing.
The livestock seminar will be held, Friday, Jan. 19, from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 20, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.. The cost of registration is $75 per person and includes supper on Friday, as well as a continental breakfast and lunch on Saturday.
