Winter wheat production in Wisconsin is forecast at 11.2\nmillion bushels, 21 percent below last year\u2019s 14.2 million bushels according to\nthe latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service \u2013 Crop Production\nreport. Based on conditions as of July 1, the State\u2019s winter wheat yield is\nforecast at 66 bushels per acre, down 5 bushels from last year. Wisconsin\nwinter wheat growers intend to harvest 170,000 acres for grain, down 15 percent\nfrom 2018. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oat production is forecast at 8.06 million bushels, up 47\npercent from 2018. The expected yield is 62 bushels per acre, up 1 bushel from\nthe previous year. The area expected to be harvested for grain totals at\n130,000 acres is up 44 percent from 2018. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The forecasts in this report are based on July 1 conditions\nand do not reflect weather effects since that time. The next crop production\nforecasts, based on conditions as of August 1, will be released on August 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
National Summary:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Winter wheat production is forecast at 1.29 billion bushels,\nup 1 percent from the June 1 forecast and up 9 percent from 2018. As of July 1,\nthe United States yield is forecast at 51.8 bushels per acre, up 1.3 bushels\nfrom last month and up 3.9 bushels from last year’s average yield of 47.9\nbushels per acre. The area expected to be harvested for grain or seed totals\n24.9 million acres, unchanged from the Acreage report released on June 28,\n2019, but up 1 percent from last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oats production is forecast at 61.6 million bushels, up 15\npercent from 2018 for comparable States. Growers expect to harvest 909,000\nacres for grain or seed, unchanged from the Acreage report released on June 28,\n2019, but up 10 percent from 2018 for comparable States.
