Fed lamb prices were $4-$10/cwt higher last week. USDA estimates 35,000 sheep and lambs were harvested last week, 3,000 more than the previous week and equal to a year ago. Exports of U.S. lamb muscle cuts totaled 235 metric tons in June, up 5% from a year ago, while value nearly doubled to $1.8 million (up 95%). During the first half of the year, lamb muscle cut exports were 6% below last year in volume but increased 6% in value.
