Lee Joins Midwest Farm Report Team

Veteran broadcaster Larry Lee is now part of the Mid-West Farm Report team.

Lee has been in radio for more than forty years, working in local news and programming, and for the past decade, he has been exclusively covering agricultural news.  He says, “Joining the Midwest Farm Report team is an opportunity to focus my efforts on Wisconsin and its farmers, and the issues that matter to them.  The Mid-West Farm Report is built on listening to more than a soundbite or two and getting more of the story directly from the people in agribusiness.  My job is to help bring more of that story out to our listeners on and off the farm, and being able to bring complete interviews to our listeners will do that.”

Larry Lee is a lifelong Wisconsinite, growing up on a fishing resort near Chetek, and is one generation removed from farming, as his parents grew up on small farms in the Driftless Region near Ferryville and Gays Mills.  Lee enjoys fishing, camping, cooking and helping a farmer friend during tillage and harvest seasons.  He is also working on a fixer-upper home, and is easily distracted by fair food, old cars and tractor shows.

Farm Director Pam Jahnke says, “I have worked alongside Larry as a fellow farm broadcaster for years. I am happy he’s part of our team.”

While Farm Team members Jahnke and Kiley Allan remain based at the southern end of the “World’s Largest Barn” in Madison, Lee will be based in Central Wisconsin, which has many potato, vegetable and cranberry growing operations in addition to traditional row crops, beef and dairy farms.

Lee joined the Midwest Farm Report team August 10th.
