The Dairy Business Association (DBA), Wisconsin’s leading dairy advocacy group, endorsed candidates Ellen Schutt and Kevin Krentz for the state legislature ahead of the primary election.
Both candidates offer deep roots in Wisconsin’s agricultural sector and alignment with DBA’s key priorities, including a strong farm economy, reduced regulations, and investments in rural infrastructure.
“DBA supports candidates who have a proven record of advocating for agriculture and rural communities,” said DBA Executive Director Chad Zuleger. “Wisconsin agriculture benefits when lawmakers understand the realities of farming.”
Ellen Schutt Endorsed for 11th Senate District
The DBA backs Ellen Schutt in her bid for Wisconsin’s 11th Senate District. Schutt previously served in the Wisconsin State Assembly, where she actively championed farm-friendly policy. During her tenure, she authored legislation that increased farmer representation on county land conservation committees.
Schutt currently serves as executive director of the Wisconsin FFA Foundation. In this role, she leads fundraising efforts that support over 28,000 Wisconsin youth developing into future agricultural leaders.
“Ellen’s firsthand farming experience, legislative background, and continued leadership make her a strong voice for Wisconsin farmers,” Zuleger noted.
Kevin Krentz Endorsed for 57th Assembly District
In the primary race for Wisconsin’s 57th Assembly District, the DBA endorses dairy farmer Kevin Krentz. The seat became open following the retirement of Representative Kevin Petersen, who served nearly two decades in the Legislature.
Krentz brings extensive industry experience to the race. He sits on the DBA Board of Directors and previously served as president of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation. His platform focuses on protecting Wisconsin agriculture, improving rural infrastructure, and supporting local conservation efforts.
“Kevin brings both real-world dairy farming experience and a strong record of agricultural leadership,” Zuleger said. “We believe he will be an effective advocate for the dairy community in the State Assembly.”
Looking Ahead to the Primary
With agriculture remaining one of Wisconsin’s vital economic drivers, the DBA views strong rural leadership as essential for the state’s future.
Primary voters will head to the polls to select candidates for both state legislative seats.
