What started as a country song about a lunchbox staple has grown into an unlikely partnership. It’s now connecting Wisconsin cheese to American Idol winner, Hannah Harper, as the Missouri woman heads out on tour.
The rising star’s original song, “String Cheese,” has struck a chord with many listeners. But especially with Plymouth-based Sargento Cheese.
The family-owned cheese company sent a care package directly to Harper. It was filled with signature string cheese and many other cheese-related snacks. That simple gesture sparked what will be a year-long partnership as Harper travels the country on her String Cheese Tour. And she’ll not only be riding in a bus covered with custom Sargento graphics, but also stocked with as much cheese as the singer, her family, and crew can eat.
Harper announced the new sponsorship on social media. She says it make perfect sense.
“I’ve always loved that Sargento is a family-owned company that believes in making high-quality, natural cheese,” she explained. “It’s what I feed my own family at home and exactly what I want to fuel our crew with on the road.”
Fans will also find opportunities throughout the tour to win concert tickets, exclusive merchandise, and behind-the-scenes experiences. There will be giveaways on both Harper’s and Sargento’s social media channels. And officials with the cheese maker call this particular collaboration more than just marketing. It reflects shared values.
“From the moment we first heard Hannah’s music, we knew she embodied the values that have defined Sargento for generations—family, quality, and bringing people together,” Sargento General Manager Erin Price said. “This partnership is about much more than string cheese on a tour bus. It’s about celebrating family, supporting an artist we’ve believed in from the beginning, and creating memorable moments for fans across the country.”
The sponsorship is expected to continue beyond the concert season, too. Additional fan experiences are already being planned through the holidays and into 2027.
For Sargento, it’s a wonderful way to showcase a Wisconsin-made product.
And for Harper, it’s proof that a song inspired by everyday family moments can resonate far beyond the stage. It can even lead to a partnership that puts a little taste of Wisconsin on the road with every stop.
