Farmers, crop advisers, and agricultural professionals are invited to attend the Nitrogen and Soil Management Field Day on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Dunn County Demonstration Farm, 640 Stokke Parkway, Menomonie.
Hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension, the field day will provide attendees with practical information on soil conservation, nitrogen management, and strategies to
improve soil health and farm profitability. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from Extension specialists and conservation professionals who are working directly with Wisconsin
farmers and agricultural landscapes.
The program will feature presentations on the impact of soil conservation practices, results from local on-farm nitrogen application research, and approaches for managing unprofitable acres
through yield stability and profit mapping.
Featured speakers include:
- Todd Prill, Agricultural Water Outreach Specialist with UW-Madison Division of Extension,
presenting “Impact of Soil Conservation Practices on the Landscape” - Jerry Clark, Regional Crops and Soils Educator with UW-Madison Division of Extension,
presenting “Insights from Local On-Farm Nitrogen Application Research” - Scott Stipetich, Pheasants Forever, presenting “Managing Unprofitable Acres with Yield
Stability and Profit Maps”
Attendees can earn 1.5 Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) credits for participating in the event. The field day is designed for farmers, crop consultants, conservation professionals, ag service providers, and others interested in improving nutrient use efficiency and long-term soil health.
