Wisconsin corn growers traveled to Washington, D.C., this week to participate in the National Corn Growers Association’s (NCGA) July Corn Congress, joining corn farmer leaders from across the country to shape national policy priorities and advocate for the future of U.S. agriculture.
Throughout the week, Wisconsin corn growers and Wisconsin Corn staff met with members of Wisconsin’s congressional delegation and federal policymakers to discuss key issues impacting the state’s corn industry and rural economy. Conversations focused on expanding year-round access to E15, strengthening international trade through the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and other export opportunities, advancing a comprehensive Farm Bill, and addressing rising input costs that continue to challenge farm profitability.
In addition to Capitol Hill meetings, several Wisconsin growers serve on NCGA Action Teams, where they help develop national policy positions and strategic initiatives that strengthen the U.S. corn industry. These leadership roles allow Wisconsin Corn to contribute directly to discussions on issues ranging from ethanol and trade to sustainability, biotechnology, transportation, and market development.
By serving on these national committees, Wisconsin growers help shape policies that increase demand for corn and corn products, create new market opportunities, and ensure farmers remain competitive in a rapidly evolving agricultural landscape.
