Wisconsin had 5.9 days suitable for fieldwork statewide for the week ending July 12, 2026, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. A mostly dry week allowed for hay to be cut in addition to fertilizer and herbicide applications.
Topsoil moisture condition rated 2 percent very short, 11 percent short, 79 percent adequate, and 8 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture condition rated 2 percent very short, 13 percent short, 76 percent adequate, and 9 percent surplus.
Corn was beginning to silk and condition rated 83 percent good to excellent, up 1 percentage point from last week. Soybeans were 42 percent blooming compared to the 5-year average of 38 percent. Soybean condition was 78 percent good to excellent, unchanged from last week.
Oats were 89 percent headed. Oats were 47 percent coloring compared to the average of 49 percent. Oat condition was rated 80 percent good to excellent, down 1 percentage point from last week. Winter wheat was 89 percent coloring matching the average. Winter wheat was 5 percent harvested. Winter wheat condition was 81 percent good to excellent, up 1 percentage point from last week.
The second cutting of alfalfa hay was 69 percent complete equal to the average. All hay condition was 78 percent good to excellent, up 2 percentage points from last week. Pasture and range condition was 64 percent good to excellent, down 2 percentage points from last week.
