Breese Stevens Welcomes Farmers’ Market

The Dane County Farmers’ Market will be held at Breese Stevens Field on Saturday, July 11th from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. for one weekend only.

Join us for a special market filled with Wisconsin goodness at Breese Stevens Field, 917 E. Mifflin Street, Madison, WI 53703, our traditional location during the annual Art Fair on the Square. From 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., you can enjoy a delicious array of vegetables, cheese, meat, flowers, baked goods, fruit, and other great products – all grown and raised in Wisconsin by the person behind the stand. This time of year our farmers’ tables are full of cherries and blueberries, so be prepared to stock up for fresh eating or freezing for the colder months ahead.

SNAP/EBT Services will be provided from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Information Booth. An added bonus? The Double Dollars nutrition program is currently underway at all of our markets. This means that when you take $20 out of your FoodShare account, you will automatically receive an additional $20 to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables grown by your local farmers.

Additional

In addition to regular agricultural market vendors, you can also purchase a copy of The Dane County Farmers’ Market Cookbook: Local Foods, Global Flavors at the green tent Information Booth. This cookbook made its debut exactly three years ago, if you haven’t been able to pick up a copy, now’s a great time to do so – with so much produce available at the market, recipes will help spark your cooking creativity! We’ll also have bucket and baseball hats plus canvas tote bags featuring Wisconsin produce available for purchase this Saturday!

Customers can bike, bus, walk or drive to Breese Stevens Field. Customer parking can be found at many neighboring garages. The streets immediately surrounding Breese Stevens Field will be reserved for market vendors only. Pets are not permitted. Service animals are allowed.
