WiSys is pleased to announce that Brad Gordon has joined the organization as its inaugural Forward Ag Director, leading efforts to advance agricultural innovation and collaboration across Wisconsin.
“Brad brings a unique combination of scientific expertise, collaborative leadership, and a deep understanding of the agricultural landscape,” said WiSys President Arjun Sanga. “As we launch Forward Ag, his experience working alongside farmers, researchers, and conservation partners will be invaluable in helping drive innovation and build stronger connections across Wisconsin’s
agricultural ecosystem.”
Gordon most recently served as Associate Conservation Director of Great River Greening in Minnesota. In that role, Gordon managed conservation and regenerative agriculture projects across multiple states with various partners, led farmer-facing initiatives supporting innovative processes, and oversaw grant & funding proposals, as well as awards. He holds a PhD in Water
Resources Science from the University of Minnesota, as well as a master’s in environmental science.
“I’m excited to welcome Brad Gordon to the team as he assumes the important role of Director of Forward Ag,” said Kevin Ladwig, Managing Director of 1945 Capital and chair of the Forward Ag Industry Advisory Board. “His previous positions have prepared him well for this role, and he has demonstrated the kind of leadership that will be valued by the agricultural and food
industries across the state.”
Forward Ag is looking to close the gap between research and the market, making new technologies and innovations practical and affordable while considering the social and economic pressures of modern farm life. Wisconsin is well-positioned to advance and grow Forward Ag because of the state’s large, diversified agricultural sector and the resources of its Universities of Wisconsin campuses.

“I am thrilled to join the team at WiSys as Director of Forward Ag and to return to Wisconsin to collaborate with the outstanding partners, innovators, and agricultural leaders working across the state,” Gordon said. “I look forward to strengthening collaboration across the agricultural sector, advancing use-inspired research in partnership with universities across the state, and helping drive a more resilient agricultural system and circular bioeconomy that supports farmers, communities, and the future of agriculture throughout Wisconsin.”
“This initiative will demand that we listen and learn from stakeholders while making bold decisions on where we will focus our time,” Ladwig added. “Brad’s communication skills and strategic thinking will be critical as we broaden the awareness and impact of Forward Ag.”
