The Wisconsin BioFuels Association (WBFA) commends the March 25 approval of an emergency waiver allowing nationwide E15 sales to continue through the summer and extends sincere thanks to Governor Tony Evers for joining a bipartisan group of Midwestern governors in requesting this action.
E15 provides consumers with a lower-cost fuel option while supporting domestic energy production and Wisconsin’s agricultural economy. Without the waiver, outdated regulations would limit access during the peak summer driving season.
“Governor Evers’ support reflects a strong commitment to Wisconsin’s farmers, producers, and consumers,” said Erik Huschitt, President of WBFA. “Ensuring continued access to E15 helps stabilize fuel costs and strengthens demand for homegrown biofuels.”
WBFA noted the waiver offers short-term certainty but emphasized the need for a permanent federal solution to allow year-round E15 sales and expand long-term market opportunities.
