WFBF Releases Statement On Foreign Land Ownership Veto

Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation released the following statement from WFBF President Brad Olson today following the veto of Senate Bill 7 that would have created a strict ban on land ownership by a citizen of or business based in countries considered “foreign adversaries.”

“We are very disappointed at the failure of this legislation. Wisconsin Farm Bureau strongly supports policies that improve our national security and the protection of our supply chains. We also support policies that keep Wisconsin’s productive lands in agricultural use and drive the state’s economic prosperity into the next century.

Our organization worked closely with legislators and other stakeholders to find a workable answer to the real and growing concern over the ownership of Wisconsin farm and other lands by foreign adversaries. We will continue to work to address these concerns in the next legislative session.”
