The pork cutout value continues to bump against the $100 level of resistance. The value rose $1.24 last week to average $99.86. Cash hogs were 67 cents higher with a base carcass price of $89.64. Last week’s WASDE report left projected U.S. pork production unchanged from the last report at 28.23 billion pounds. If realized, this would be 2.5% more pork than 2025. Hog harvest last week was estimated to be 2.532 million, 44,000 more than the previous week and 31,000 more than last year. Forty-pound feeder pigs averaged $126.06/head last week, making them nearly $3 higher. Weaned pigs were lower, averaging $87.01/head.
