LaClare Earns Two 3rd Place Cheeses In World Championship

LaClare Creamery’s world-class goat cheese blends tradition with meticulous craftsmanship, using farm-fresh goat milk sourced near the creamery. This helps to create the clean flavor profiles that only local milk can provide.

With a portfolio of soft and hard goat cheeses, the Original Goat Cheese serves as the foundation. Doing so for its flavored chèvre varieties. By blending the Original chèvre with honey and chopped figs, LaClare Creamery crafts its award-winning sweet chèvre full of rich flavor.

“Our Original Goat Cheese has always been a go-to for cheese connoisseurs and a gateway for shoppers new to chèvre, while Fig & Honey provides the tangy sweetness that you can’t resist.” said Patrick Considine, national sales director at LaClare Creamery. “While Fig & Honey offers Our team takes immense pride in the work done at LaClare Creamery. From the care given to our animals to the elite mastery and knowledge shared by our Master Cheesemaker, the LaClare crew crafts cheese with the flavor, texture, and quality that judges continue to recognize.”

Hosted by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association since 1957, the world’s cheese, butter, and yogurt competition took place in Madison, Wisconsin March 3-5, 2026. Entries were evaluated by a team of skilled technical judges from around the globe. Starting from a maximum score of 100 points, deductions are made for defects in flavor, body, texture, salt, finish, packaging, and other appropriate attributes. Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals are awarded to the three highest scoring entries in each class.
