Cash lamb prices were steady last week. The lamb carcass value was sharply higher at $541.44. Last week’s federally inspected harvest estimate of 38,000 sheep and lambs was 4,000 more than the previous week and 3,000 more than last year. Exports of U.S. lamb muscle cuts were 12% lower year-over-year. October shipments declined to the Caribbean but increased to Mexico and Central America. January-October exports were still up 40% year-over-year in volume. New crop lambs brought $230-$240/cwt.
