Congressman Derrick Van Orden applauded the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announcement that Wisconsin will receive $203,670,005 through the Rural Health Transformation Program, part of a historic $50 billion investment created under President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts legislation to strengthen and modernize rural health care across America.
Beginning in 2026, this funding will support Wisconsin-led efforts to expand access to care, strengthen the rural health workforce, modernize facilities and technology and keep care local for rural families, seniors, and veterans across the state.
The Rural Health Transformation Program will distribute $10 billion annually from 2026 through 2030, with funding allocated based on rural need, policy innovation, and the potential to deliver measurable improvements in access and outcomes.
